1. Access Data / Server Log Files

The provider (or its web space provider) collects data about every access to the website (so-called “server log files”). This access data includes: name of the website accessed, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful data retrieval, browser type and version, the user’s operating system, referrer URL (i.e. the previously visited page), IP address and the requesting party’s provider. The provider only uses the log data for statistical evaluations for the purposes of the operation, security and optimisation of the service. However, the provider reserves the right to retrospectively check the log data if there is reasonable suspicion of unlawful use based on concrete evidence.

2. Type, Scope and Purpose of Collecting Personal Data

Personal data is information that can be used to identify a person, i.e. information that can be traced back to a person. This includes their name, email address and telephone number. In addition, data about preferences, hobbies, memberships and the websites a person has visited also constitute personal data. Such personal data is only collected, used and shared by the provider if this is permitted by law or if users consent to this data collection.

In general, you can use the Münchner Kammerspiele website without any of your personal data being collected.

However, in order to use certain services on this website, it is necessary to provide the Münchner Kammerspiele with personal data. Your use of these services is voluntary and you can decide whether or not you want to share your data with us. Examples of these services include our newsletters, all forms and also parts of the press area. All personal data collected for the ordering and purchasing of tickets is stored and processed by München Ticket GmbH / spiritec GbR. Please note their separate Data Protection Policy (currently only available in German).

The Münchner Kammerspiele will process the personal data you provide via our website exclusively for the purposes of the respective services. Personal data collected via our website will not be transmitted to third parties. The only exception to this is that your personal data may be transmitted – and only within the scope of the statutory duty of disclosure – to government institutions and authorities authorised to collect such information, or if we are obliged to provide information by a court order.

3. Security of Your Personal Data

The Münchner Kammerspiele protects your personal data from unauthorised access, use or publication. To ensure this, your personal data is encrypted when transmitted to the Münchner Kammerspiele servers via our website using the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and the TLS (Transport Layer Security) process. Furthermore, the Münchner Kammerspiele stores your personal data in a controlled and secure server environment that prevents unauthorised access and publication.

4. Cookies and Tracking Tools

Usage data is collected exclusively for statistical purposes and to further optimise our website and make it even more attractive to users. Usage data includes, for example, the date and time of your visit to our website and the identity of the previously visited website from which you were referred to the Münchner Kammerspiele website. Usage data is collected and processed using the Matomo web analysis service. Matomo uses “cookies” which are text files that are stored on your computer and which enable us to analyse how our website is used. For this purpose, the usage information generated by the cookie (including your shortened IP address) is transmitted to our server and stored for the purpose of usage analysis, which helps us to optimise our website. Your IP address is immediately anonymised during this process which means that you as a user remain anonymous to the Münchner Kammerspiele. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website will not be shared with third parties.

You can prevent the use of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. You can fully use all the functions on our website even if you have deactivated the use of cookies via your browser. However, it should be noted that the ease of use may be reduced without cookies.

If you do not agree to the storage and analysis of this data generated during your visit, you can opt out of the storage and use at any time with a click of your mouse. In this case, a so-called “opt-out cookie” will be created in your browser which means that Matomo will not collect any session data. If you delete your cookies, the opt-out cookie will also be deleted and you may have to reactivate it.

You can decide here whether a unique web analysis cookie may be stored in your browser to enable the website operator to collect and analyse various statistical data.

5. Re-Targeting Technology

This makes it possible to target advertising on our partners’ websites at internet users who have already shown an interest in the Münchner Kammerspiele website and its products. For this purpose, corresponding pixels are placed on the partner websites. When you visit these sites, a cookie is stored in your browser. This cookie allows your computer to be recognised based on the data logged (visit to our website, date and time, browser type, operating system, identification of whether you are already a customer, information that you have viewed on our website). The user profiles created by the re-targeting process are anonymised in accordance with data protection regulations so it is not possible to identify an individual person surfing the internet.

The advertising material displayed on our partners’ websites using the re-targeting process is consequently informed by a cookie-based analysis of previous user behaviour. The cookie used for this is a temporary cookie.

You can deactivate the use of cookies, for example by third parties, by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative deactivation page at www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and implementing the advice on opting out provided there.
