Artist Talk mit Mariam T. Azimi

In a conversation with Sebastian Reier, Mariam T. Azimi talks about her first play, “Nahkampfzone,” in which three Afghan women from different eras discuss the topic of freedom. She also talks about her book “Dance Between Two Worlds,” which tells the story of Wana, who is in her early 40s and for whom the question of family, home and belonging arises anew after a stroke of fate.

Mariam T. Azimi was born in Kabul in 1975 and fled to Germany with her family at the age of six. She studied Islamic Studies, Oriental Philology and Education in Bochum and Cairo. Mariam T. Azimi works in the German Foreign Office and lives with her family in Berlin.
