For thousands of years, minorities have not been able to hope that justice would be done to them. This has only changed with new social majorities - an awareness of the realities of plurality and discrimination as well as an updated legal situation, from anti-discrimination laws to gender-inclusive language. However, these majorities currently appear to be under threat.

A nationalist party is celebrating unprecedented highs, the conservative parties are introducing gender bans and the government wants to deport people on a grand scale. So is there a threat of a return to a status quo of injustice? Or is everything completely different and, for once, things are turning out better than we think?

An evening about defeat and hope.

Max Czollek, author of “Desintegriert euch!” and “Gegenwartsbewältigung” (both Hanser), discusses with Enissa Amani, artist and human rights activist and Gianni Jovanovic, author (“Ich, ein Kind der kleinen Mehrheit”, Blumenbar), performer and activist for the rights of Sinti*zze and Rom*nja as well as those of queer and BIPoC communities.
