World music from Giesing: this is how the duo of Maria Hafner and Florian Burgmayr describe themselves. One is a Munich musician and actress, the other is a composer and poet — but also a low-pitched singer. With keys, tuba, viola, voice and subtle humor, Hafner-Burgmayr steer through their musical worlds like dream dancers. This means: they chirp, troll, pretzel, vaccinate and yodel, sing about a flight of wasps, enjoy chocolate and marvel at dancing agapanthi. Even sheep are counted. And if there is a waltz, then it leads into the sea. “It gives your brain a break!” says one concertgoer. Florian Burgmayr replies: “We enjoy every sound!”
