Buđenje Proleća - Frühlingserwachen

Imaš sve na internetu! - Just look at it on the internet, it’s all there! And yet there are around 3000 abortions among young people in Serbia every year. Based on Frank Wedekind’s Frühlings Erwachen (Spring Awakening), the dancers of the young dance company of Bitef Teatar go in search of the why. What concerns young people in Serbia, what longings do they have, what are they missing? Energetic and engaging, then again unemotional in a documentary way, in the next moment sensitive and careful, the dancers deal with themselves and their environment.

The young dance company of Bitef Teatars was founded in September 2018 and creates dance productions for children and young audiences. The company consists of third and fourth year students of the Lujo Davičo Ballet School, mainly from the field of contemporary dance.

The performance of Buđenje Proleća will take place as part of the 15th Balkantage 2021 in cooperation with the Münchner Kammerspiele. The Balkantage are organised by the association Hilfe von Mensch zu Mensch e.V..
