Anna-Helena Klumpen und Katrin Savvulidi

The SCHIESSLHAUS AiR is an artist residency in the listed “Schießl-Haus” in Kollnburg, Bavarian Forest. It is a place for artistic inspiration, interaction and intervention. Since 2022, the two curators and cultural managers Katrin Savvulidi (graduate artist, M.A.) and Anna-Helena Klumpen (art, media and cultural studies scholar, R.M.A.) have been running the international artist residency, whose conception and implementation they have been working on since 2018. At SCHIESSLHAUS AiR, they realize publicly funded artist-in-residence programs for professional artists and creatives, formats of cultural education and mediation, especially for children and young people, network meetings of the national art and culture scene and public events. Every year, up to ten international artists are guests in Kollnburg for residencies lasting several months. The residency program focuses on the aspects of time, freedom, exchange and encounters. Open-ended, interdisciplinary and participatory artistic processes, critical reflection and intercultural dialog are encouraged.
The SCHIESSLHAUS AiR has received numerous awards for the restoration and revitalization of the historic “Schießl-Haus” and the use of the listed building as an international artists’ house with a public event program, most recently the 2023 State Prize for Village Renewal and Building Culture from the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and forestry.
