KCEO

KCEO is a Kurdish-Alevi musician who was born in Munich. In 2021, he founded the Freisein Collective together with other artists from Munich and began his musical career. His unique sound is shaped by his cultural background and the life situations he finds himself in. Although his lyrics are almost exclusively in German, multilingual terms play a significant role, with most coming from his mother tongue Zazakî or English. He says of his music: “I am of course aware that I am making pop music and not reinventing the wheel, but if you understand capitalism and it is ultimately just a means to an end, then my job is not to invent anything new, but to humbly create my own recipe.” In 2021, he composed the soundtrack for the short film “Bad People, Bad News” by artist Cemile Sahin. In 2023, he released his first EP “MÎR - Fürst”, which also includes a feature with the Kurdish-Alevi musician Erdogan Emîr. He is currently working on his second EP, which is expected to be released in 2024.
