Antigone Akgün

Antigone Akgün works as a director, actress and author. In her artistic practice, she deals with the overwriting of canonical literature and tries to make marginalized positions audible and visible. In 2021, she was nominated for the Hans Gratzer Scholarship at Schauspielhaus Wien with her debut play “Das Erste Festmahl”, which sheds light on the experiences of non-normative women’s bodies. Her directorial debut “Der Brotladen” at Theater Bremen was invited to the Brecht Festival in Augsburg in 2023.
