Tuncay Acar talks to the activist, rapper, DJ and social worker Achim “Waseem” Seger about his work and his music. Waseem will also perform some of his songs.

With the microphone on stage, behind the DJ booth, at demonstrations - and even on election posters: Achim “Waseem” Seger is travelling everywhere to promote various projects. The Munich native not only performs as a rapper and DJ, but is also committed to combating racism and radicalisation. Waseem heads the specialist unit for youth work in the migration society at Bezirksjugendring Oberbayern, designs workshops for young people on the subject of rap and poetry, organises Safe Spaces for BIPoC and is one of the initiators of the ausARTen festival, which has been awarded the Citizens’ Prize for Democracy, among others.

Tuncay Acar is a musician, DJ, blogger and cultural activist from Munich. He dedicates the “Dies Das” series of talks to people and topics that usually take place on the fringes of public perception. “Dies Das” sends out impulses and creates awareness for the real diversity that exists beyond any “dominant culture”. The talk programme includes additional formats such as radio, lectures, performances, readings, concerts, exhibitions, screenings, etc.
