The fat years are over. Or perhaps they never existed? One thing is clear: the great theater heroines walk across the stage slim and youthful. At most, the “others”, the “ugly ones”, the supporting characters are “fat”. But how are norms and theater connected and why are overweight bodies often the ones who are supposed to provide the laughs? In her lecture performance, Antigone Akgün attempts to expose viewing habits and examine fatphobia in terms of humor and classism.
