On this evening we invite you to a performative reading of the new, previously unpublished theater text by the Hungarian author Sári O. Horváth in the translation by Eva Zador, read by Fanni Lakos. Song pieces by Hungarian composers (Béla Bartók, Ferenc Liszt, Gyula Fekete) accompany the evening, sung by Lina Ferencz and played by pianist Naoe Sasaki.

With “stand up - or, early risers are tired early”, we listen to a breathless monologue by Nóri, a woman in her mid-30s. What comes out of Nóri’s mouth documents and accompanies her stumbling through a world determined by patriarchal, reactionary traditions, in which she also knows how to hold her own thanks to some alcohol and pragmatism. Sometimes Nóri gets lost in daydreams, sometimes she wittily exposes political imbalances.

The reading will be followed by a discussion moderated by Caitlin van der Maas (“Kaffee & Croissant”).
