At the two-day event SCHIESSLHAUS AiR meets HABIBI KIOSK, you can expect a diverse program with film screenings, performances, an exhibition and talks with three guest artists from Schiesslhaus AiR, Zeynep Ayşe Hatipoğlu, mariia Lemperk and Alina Matochkina, and the curators Anna-Helena Klumpen and Katrin Savvulidi. The two have been running the Künstlerhaus Schiesslhaus AiR in Kollnburg since 2022 and organize international artist-in-residence programmes in the Bavarian Forest.
We start on March 25 with a screening of Alina Matochkina’s film ADA, a documentary about the love, creativity and courage of the ingenious Ukrainian artist couple Ada Rybachuk and Volodymyr Melnichenko. The screening will be followed by a Q&A moderated by Anna-Helena Klumpen and Katrin Savvulidi (Schiesslhaus AiR).

ADA, Alina Matochkina, Ukraine 2022, 92’ I OF with English subtitles

Ada Rybachuk and Volodymyr Melnichenko worked for 13 years on their great masterpiece, the Park of Remembrance in Kiev, but in the spring of 1982 the heart of the project, the 2,000 square meter Wall of Remembrance, was concreted over by order of the Soviet bureaucrats. The film was made over a period of 8 years and shows a significant phase of Volodymyr’s life after the loss of Ada. Despite her death, he remained resilient and continued their shared struggle to preserve her art and keep Ada’s memory alive.

SNEAK-PEEK: Even before the vernissage on March 26, you will have the opportunity to see an exhibition by Schiesslhaus AiR with selected artistic works by Zeynep Ayşe Hatipoğlu, mariia Lemperk and Alina Matochkina at Habibi Kiosk that evening.

Admission: 18:45, film screening: 19:00, followed by Q&A
